A day after powerful thunderstorms and lightning wreaked havoc across southwestern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says there remains a chance for scattered showers -- and possibly more thunderstorms -- this afternoon.

Morning skies, however, will be mostly sunny until clouds move in later. The daytime high temperature is expected to be in the upper-70s, with a northwest wind between 13 and 18 mph.

Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-50s and a northwest wind between 8 and 13 mph.

Tomorrow there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Otherwise, skies should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-80s. Tomorrow night should be mostly clear, with the temperature dipping to the low-60s, the NWS says.

Thursday should be sunny with a high temperature in the mid-80s. Nighttime skies will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-60s.

The outlook for Friday, the weather service predicts, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the mid-80s.
