New Canaan forecast: A brief break from rain
There should be a partly sunny break today from the wintry precipitation that dampened southwestern Connecticut over the last few days, but more rain is in store overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
The daytime high temperature should reach the mid-40s today, the NWS says, with a northeast wind 7 to 9 mph becoming southeast.
Rain, along with the threat of thunderstorms, is expected late tonight and very early tomorrow as the temperature falls to a low of about 40 degrees. There will be a southeast wind between 10 and 13 mph.
Tomorrow, showers are in the forecast mainly before noon as the high temperature rises to the mid-50s The rain should taper off be afternoon and nighttime will be mostly clear with a low temperature in the mid-30s, the NWS says.
On Sunday, there is a slight chance of showers after 10 a.m. Otherwise, skies should be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-40s. There is a slight chance of showers before midnight Sunday.
Monday should be mostly sunny, the weather service predicts, with a high near 40 degrees.
