New Canaan cheerleaders clean up at FCIAC Championships
The New Canaan cheerleading team provided a powerful performance at the FCIAC Championships by taking fifth place in the all-girl varsity team division, a first, second and 23rd in the individual competitions, the "Team Spirit" trophy and "Coach of the Year" award for Margaret DiMauro at Wilton High School on Sunday. MSG Varsity TV was there to capture the excitement of the day. The Rams finished fifth in a field of 14 all-girl varsity teams.
"Our traditional style of leading the crowd by using our school name, flags and signs is absolutely one of our strengths and when blended with our focus of executing clean stunts, difficult tumbling, and sharp choreography, we have become a very successful team in both the FCIAC and the state," DiMauro said.
