New Canaan U14 girls Black soccer team drops season finale
The U14 New Canaan girls Black soccer team lost its last game of the fall season 4-2 at Greenwich.
Both teams started with nine players, as New Canaan was a few players short. With both regular keepers absent, Alana Tonghini filled in admirably in the first half.
Greenwich opened the scoring at 7' and New Canaan leveled 10 minutes later when Becca Walshin took the ball the length of the defensive half, outrunning the defender and firmly shooting through the keeper's legs at close range.
Greenwich scored again at 31' and led 2-1 at the half. Shortly after the start of the second half, New Canaan was down to seven players when two of their players had to leave. New Canaan had to play nine vs. seven.

Greenwich tacked on a third and fourth goal and then took one player off and played eight vs. seven the remainder of the game.
New Canaan's Nicole Weiss made a good run up the side of the field, scoring to make it 4-2.
New Canaan finished the season 2-5.
