The New Canaan U12 girls Red soccer team played to a 0-0 tie against Darien on Sunday at Darien's High School.

New Canaan's offense pressured Darien's goalkeeper with three major drives during the match but came up empty-handed on every attempt. The only real offensive threat of the first half from either team came on a brilliant strike by New Canaan's Taylor Frame, who rang the right post on her breakaway attempt at the 31-minute mark.

New Canaan stepped up the tempo in the second half as Lizzy Kuchinski fired a blistering strike 50 minutes into the match but was denied by a strong save from Darien's goalie. Darien's keeper was tested again at 65 minutes by Katherine Lisecky from the left side of the box, but she held her ground with another strong save to keep New Canaan scoreless.

For the second week in a row, New Canaan's defensive line, which included by Jane Charlton, Ellie Anderson, Lucy Potter and Sophie Potter, worked to keep Darien at bay.
