Alice Knapp, the director of the New Canaan Library, will speak Friday, Oct. 29, at the weekly meeting of the Senior Men's Club of New Canaan at 10 a.m. in Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church.

Knapp will review the completed strategic plan and what has been done to bring the library into the 21st century and discuss what is planned for the future.

Most importantly, the SMCNC will hear about the library's recently announced expansion plans and how the library and its staff plan to keep services on the cutting edge. Knapp previously served as director of public services for the Ferguson Library in Stamford. Prior to that, she served as director of the Bethel, Conn., and Canastota, N.Y., public libraries.

She has a master's degree in library science from SUNY at Albany.
