With Hurricane Earl approaching Connecticut, school officials are keeping close tabs on the weather developments but aren't planning an early dismissal.

In a statement, Superintendent of Schools David Abbey said he is continuing to monitor information about the hurricane. If it becomes necessary to close the schools, Abbey said they will contact parents through the all-call system and on the district website.

All after-school activities have been cancelled for today, according to the New Canaan Public School's district website.
