New Canaan Pride U9 soccer team falls short against Greenwich
The New Canaan Pride U9 soccer team was defeated 6-1 by Greenwich on Sunday. Although the final score indicated a lopsided loss, the Pride never gave up, growing stronger as the game wore on.
Not content to just lead the defense, William Bozzella often pushed forward launching the offense with crisp passes. Up front, the trio of Nicky Lambrinos, Jack O'Donnell and Christian Wolter relentlessly pressured the Greenwich defense. O'Donnell's determination was rewarded when he intercepted a goal kick and slotted a shot in the back of the net, tying the score at 1-1. At the other end of the field, Jack Harrison was very busy in goal, highlighted by two point blank saves.

During the second half, the Pride's defense solidified as Connor Flanagan and Doyle Catlin exerted their presence. Midfielders Peter Miller and Bobby Mushkin worked hard on both sides of the ball. In goal, Beckett Walters turned away the Greenwich onslaught with six saves.
