The New Canaan Police Department will host a free AAA Driving Improvement class for mature drivers Saturday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 22.

Classes will be taught by two officers certified in the program and will take place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both days at the police department, 170 South Ave.

The AAA program is aimed at experienced drivers who wish to improve their driving skills and review the basics of defensive driving. By completing the class, drivers 60 and older in Connecticut qualify for a minimum 5 percent discount on their auto insurance. Participants will receive a certificate to present to their insurance carrier.
