fest at Silvermine

Silvermine Arts Center presents a Silvermine School of Art Faculty Exhibition through Sept. 17.

The exhibit showcases the current works of the distinguished artist/teachers of the Silvermine School of Art. All artwork is available for purchase. Call 203-966-9700, ext. 2, or visit www.silvermineart.org.

There will be an arts fest Saturday, Sept. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. This will be the first Silvermine Arts Fest and the inauguration of the Sculpture Walk. It includes flash concerts by New York City-based Asphalt Orchestra, and Liz Joyce presenting her Punch and Judy, plus a pottery sale and hands-on art activities for all ages with the Silvermine School of Art Faculty.

There will also be a special one day showing of The Dancer Films, directed by Judy Dennis, based on Jules Feiffer's dancer cartoons.

Auditions at

The Darien Arts Center is holding auditions for a Darien Players production of "The Case of the Curious Condiment," written by Jack Rushen and directed by Tom Rushen.

Audition dates are Monday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Darien Arts Center Visual Arts Studio and Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Darien Arts Center Visual Arts Studio. The Darien Arts Center is at 2 Renshaw Road, Darien, behind the town hall. The Visual Arts Studio is across from the main arts center doors.

Concert series

in its 64th Year

Wilton Candlelight Concerts' 64th season of chamber music will open on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m. with a recital of Mozart and Schumann performed by Richard Goode. This is the first of a four concert series sponsored by Candlelight Concerts, an independent, nonprofit organization based in Wilton.

Season tickets for the Candlelight series start at $90, ($75 for seniors), and tickets to individual performances are $25.
