Captains Chris Koennecke, Ben Patch, Puck Richardson and Harry Stanton and the rest of the New Canaan hockey team will challenge the NCHS alumni players on Friday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Darien Ice Rink.

Regarded as one of the most successful alumni games in the state, veteran players from as long ago as the 70's and 80's are sure to return and bask in the legacy and tradition they built for today's young players.

The game, sponsored by New Canaan Ice Hockey and known as the Larry Tomaselli Alumni game, has been held over Thanksgiving weekend for the past 33 years. Tomaselli and his wife, Fiz Tomaselli, started the alumni game as a way to raise money for the boys ice hockey program and as a great way to kick off the hockey season which starts in early December.

The hockey program relies heavily on donations from the game to cover expenses for ice time, equipment and referee fees, both for varsity and junior varsity throughout the season.
