National Charity League New Canaan chapter members Cara Petrucci and Christina Donovan, from the class of 2014, recently participated in Turn the Towns Teal campaign to promote awareness of ovarian cancer and its silent symptoms.
NCL volunteers tied teal ribbons around town and handed out ovarian cancer symptom cards to residents and merchants. Last year almost 200 communities in 29 states participated in the awareness campaign. NCL members of the class of 2012 and the class of 2014 promoted the campaign in New Canaan.
The National Charity League provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for mothers and daughters to improve the lives of others, become involved in community activities and strengthen the mother daughter relationship. Members are involved in philanthropic work, educational activities and cultural events.
