NEW CANAAN — Police arrested a 46-year-old man from New Milford, N.J. after being summoned to a Harrison Avenue home where he got into a dispute with another person.

On Dec. 9 around 9:30 p.m., police responded to Harrison Avenue to deal with a reported dispute between Edgar Barua of Faller Drive and another party. Upon arrival, officers located Barua and determined he was in New Canaan after driving there from New Jersey.

While speaking with Barua, officers detected the smell of alcohol coming from his breath. Officers administered field sobriety tests, which Barua failed. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence and was processed and held on a $250 bond. He was given a court date of Dec. 20.
