NCTV 79 begins live broadcast from Town Hall
NCTV 79, the studio that brings local town hall coverage to channel 79, recently received a state grant allowing the station to offer live coverage of Town Hall events.
"We qualified for a PEGPETIA grant from the state to allow us to do this." Paul Sedlak, director of broadcast operations, said. Sedlak, who was responsible for the grant application, said the studio received $31,000.
"The grant allowed us to put in capabilities to run live video from Town Hall. We have cameras installed in the board room and the main meeting room." He said. "We can broadcast anything live as long as it is in Town Hall. We cover things like Board of Selectmen meetings, Town Council meetings and events put on by the League of Women Voters," he added.
The League of Women Voters will sponsor a "Meet the Candidates" forum on Oct. 21 which will be broadcast live from Town Hall on channel 79.
"After the event, we will replay it daily until election day." Sedlak said.
NCTV 79's broadcast schedule can be found on the channel 79 bulletin board.
