NCHS senior found with heroin

Police arrested a 17-year-old male New Canaan High School student after finding syringes with small amounts of heroin in his home Feb. 29.
Police obtained a search warrant for the male's South Avenue home after surveillance video from the high school revealed he had stolen a 17-year-old female student's iPhone from her belongings in the theater hallway Feb. 23. Police searched the boy's room and found the iPhone, valued at $500, as well as several other drug-related materials. The items included used syringes with heroin residue, bottles with marijuana residue, a digital scale and plastic bags used to store and package drugs.

The male was charged with fifth-degree larceny, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. All the charges were by of youthful offender.
He was taken into custody and released on a promise to appear in court March 7.
