Michael John Morris

Michael John Morris died Saturday, July 16, in Norwalk after a battle with cancer. He was 69.
Mr. Morris was born May 5, 1942 in North Acton, West London. He lived in Maidenhead, England and Westport before settling in Norwalk. Mr. Morris made his living as a children's publisher. He was co-chairman of Readers Digest Young Families, co-owned several national and international children's publishing companies and received numerous awards for his children's books he spent creating over a 40 year time span. For more than 25 years he served at his church as a lay reader and was an active participant on various committees. In later years he also served as co-warden of the church.
In addition to Tera, his wife of 14 years, he is survived by three children, Victoria, Christian and Grace; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Kyle and Sage, an aunt Violet, niece Nicola and nephew Richard. He was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Winnie Morris, and sister Christine.
Services will take place Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ and Holy Trinity Church in Westport.
