Tonight marks the beginning of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, and despite the heavy wind and rains, the menorah lighting at God's Acre will go on as planned.

The community is invited to the event, which starts at 6 p.m.

Volunteer families will light the menorah on the following seven evenings at 5 p.m.

Tonight's event will be special as Cantor Shirah Sklar leads in the singing of songs and prayers. Rabbis Mark Lipson and Brian Leiken will also attend, all from Temple Shalom in Norwalk.
