A 40-year-old male resident of Silvermine Road reported fraud to police July 6 at 1:08 p.m.
The complainant told police someone opened up a major credit card account in his name this past March. He only found out about the account when a collection agency contacted him about a payment of $1,800. Police said his identity had somehow been compromised. The complainant said he doesn't know how this could have happened.
The matter is still under investigation.
