Man charged with threatening, unlawful restraint
NEW CANAAN — A 30-year-old man from Barkhamsted, Conn. was charged after allegedly getting into a fight with a New Canaan resident.
On Jan. 22 around 3:20 p.m., police said they responded to a call from an Urban Street home for a domestic violence complaint. After hearing the victim’s account and receiving evidence, police put out an arrest warrant for Robert Velletri, of Eddy Road.
The next day around 6:30 p.m., the Barkhamsted man turned himself into police. He was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct. Velletri was held on a $10,000 bond and issued a court date of Jan. 24.
Police said they would release no further information about the incident as it is domestic in nature.
