Stanley E. Roger, 47, was arrested on a warrant service June 13 in relation to a charge stemming from an incident Feb. 16, 2010, at 7:15 p.m.

On Feb. 16, a 47-year-old male resident of Hillcrest Road arrived at his home to plow the driveway when he noticed an unknown vehicle parked at the residence. The complainant also noticed his motion light did not turn on as usual when he parked. As he got out, he was confronted by Roger coming from the area of the neighbors' house.

Roger told the complainant he was doing work at the neighbor's house but the complainant did not believe him, according to police. Roger left the driveway before the complainant could identify him and before police arrived. Upon investigation, police saw footprints around the complainant's residence and towards the neighbor's house.

Pry marks were found on a side door and on a main level window on the back deck thought no entry was gained, police said.

After a lengthy investigation, a warrant was obtained for Roger's arrest March 2, 2010. When the warrant went out, New Canaan police found out Roger was serving time in Westchester County Jail.

Upon his release June 13, New Canaan police apprehended him. He was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree attempted burglary. He did not post a $50,000 bond and appeared in court June 14.
