Lyme disease expert to speak
Phillips' presentation will address the most controversial and confusing aspects of Lyme disease, such as problems with the necessary blood tests, relapses and chronic illness, and the relationship of Lyme disease and other vector-born infections to fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, inflammatory arthritis and multiple sclerosis. His presentation will review the medical literature on the topic and illustrate his points with actual patient cases.
He is a proponent of treating stubborn cases of Lyme disease with longer, more intensive courses of antibiotics, and has been published both nationally and internationally in medical literature on the topic. He has been requested by Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York to provide testimonies as a Lyme disease expert at the state level.
He has treated patients from more than 20 countries, and has been past president of The International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society.
