Library names resident development director
Crovatto, of New Canaan, will join the library team in early May, bringing experience in the development field and firsthand knowledge of the community.
"It is an honor to step into the role of development director at New Canaan Library," she said. "The dynamic leadership of the library and its board is reason enough to enlist; but the excellence and dedication of its staff to enriching life in our community through superior programming and services should serve as the cornerstone for all of our support."
Crovatto is the former director of corporate partnerships for the Fund for Public Schools under Caroline Kennedy, a private partnership created to support libraries and the arts for New York City public schools. A cum laude graduate of Columbia College, Crovatto is also well versed in finance, bringing 12 years of international investment banking with a specialization in raising capital for emerging market private equity funds.
"Ellen comes to us with an exceptional mix of skills and experiences as well as a strong connection to our community and a passion to help us achieve our goal of being the best library in Connecticut," Lisa Oldham, the library's executive director, said.
A resident of 13 years, Crovatto is a volunteer, holding leadership and fundraising roles in New Canaan schools and community organizations. Her four children attend New Canaan's public schools.
