Letter: New Canaan businesses support Child Guidance

The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC) would like to say “thank you” to the New Canaan community that supported this year’s annual gala, A Derby Affair, which took place May 6 at the Wee Burn Beach Club in Rowayton. Every dollar raised during our gala will be used to ensure that the community’s highest-risk children receive the best possible mental health services, regardless of their families’ ability to pay.
CGC received an incredible response from New Canaan residents and businesses, and we can’t thank them enough. Local establishments donated thousands of dollars worth of items and services, and helped us raise nearly $60,000 between our silent and live auctions.
A big thank you to the following businesses: Andrea Chalon Photography, Benefit Cosmetics, Chef Luis Restaurant, Cody Smolik Rolfing, New Canaan Wine Merchants, Rockwell Art & Framing, Scout and Molly’s, She La La, Soleil Toile, Spiga Wine Bar & Salumeria, and Vineyard Vines.
Overall, the gala was a huge success, netting over $530,000 to help improve the mental and behavioral health of children and teens in our community through treatment, education and community support. This is an incredible victory for children’s mental health, and we couldn’t have achieved this fundraising record without the generosity of the New Canaan community, to include both businesses and individual donors.
