Spring classes are in full swing at Lapham Center. This is a good time to try out a class or other activity as the flight of the snowbirds to warmer climes has left space in many programs. Tomorrow's Free Friday Film at 1 p.m., "Up" (8.5), is a very highly rated animated film about a 78 year-old man who sets out to fulfill a lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. It is narrated by Ed Asner and Christopher Plummer. At 1 p.m. on Wednesday "Into the Storm" (7.0) will be shown. This drama, starring Brendan Gleeson, Len Cariou and Janet McTeer, is a look at Churchill's life and career at the end of WWII.

In the Computer Center Jack Murray will be teaching "Making a Slide Show of Photos" at 9:30 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday, March 8 and 10.

Murray will show students how to take photos from a CD or digital camera, rearrange them, add music and create a slideshow on DVD to play on a TV or computer, or to copy and share with family and friends. Registration is necessary.

Stamp Club will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Leaders Fred Change and Ruth Wolsh invite all interested collectors.

The Exploding Book Group with Cynde Lahey will discuss "Half The Sky" by WuDunn and Kristoff at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. This book is a change from what had been discussed at the last meeting. Literary Ladies will talk about "The Women" by T. C. Boyle at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Copies of both books are available in the Library. Interested readers are welcome to either book group.
