NEW CANAAN — A very fashionable and charitable tradition took place Friday night when New Canaan High School’s senior class held its annual fashion show.

“This is the largest fundraiser of the year,” explained parent and post prom co-chair Whitney Williams,” with money going to the alcohol-free party to be held at Waveny Mansion on May 18.

The fashion show, which began around 25 years ago, included around 140 students and even a few faculty members, who walked the runway wearing clothes provided by several local stores.

“It’s really cool to see all the different styles that you can wear for the prom,” said Eliza Farley, one of the emcees for the evening.

“It’s also really fun to dress up,” she said, “and it’s for a good cause.”
