Silver Hill Hospital, of New Canaan, re-elected four officers to the board.

Ward Cleary, of Darien, and Deann Murphy, of New Rochelle, N.Y., were elected co-chairmen; Sperry DeCew, of New Canaan, secretary; and Peter Orthwein, of Greenwich, treasurer.

"As an independent, nonprofit, psychiatric hospital, we have the ability to provide some of the most advanced psychiatric treatments in the tri-state area," Murphy said.

Cleary added, "We keep a high doctor to patient ratio, providing customized care for each individual. Our goal is to bring about healing, one patient at a time."

Founded in 1931, Silver Hill Hospital treats more than 3,000 adolescent and adult patients each year for psychiatric and behavioral disorders such as bipolar disorder, disordered eating, schizophrenia, chronic pain when coupled with addiction and substance abuse.

"From advanced medical degrees and law to economics, finance and fine arts, the depth and breadth of our board is a tremendous asset to us," Sigurd Ackerman, president and medical director, said. "Under their auspices, we have completely renovated our facilities and developed some of the most cutting-edge treatments in behavioral science. I look forward to many more productive years with them."

The board has 22 members.
