Timothy Yancey, 57, of Milford, appeared in Norwalk Superior Court this afternoon after New Canaan Police charged with first-degree possession of child pornography last night.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint that the New Canaan Nature Center employee had child porn on a work computer during his employ, as was first reported by the New Canaan News.

Yancey, who was handcuffed and remained seated during his appearance, did not offer a plea. The court denied his attorney's request to reduce Yancey's bail from $250,000 to $100,000.

The court imposed three conditions should Yancey post bail: He is not permitted to have contact with any Nature Center employees; he is not permitted on Nature Center property; and he is not permitted to have unsupervised contact with minors under 18.

According to the report, New Canaan Police, with assistance from the Milford Police Department, arrested Yancey on a warrant at his Milford home. Police said they took him into custody without incident.

Search warrants were subsequently executed on Yancey's vehicle and residence.

He is scheduled to appear in court next month.
