Elm Street Books art contest offers prize for book worms
Elm Street Books is holding a competition for a painting of its storefront and invites the community to pull out their easels and art supplies.
The bookstore wants a fun piece of art to embody the shop's facade. All ages are welcome to get creative. Make a sketch or a collage. Digitally treated photographs are also welcome; no traditional photos.
The store wants to use the artwork for media purposes, but artists retain their actual work. The winner of the contest will receive a $150 gift certificate. His or her original artwork will be unveiled at a First Thursday night at Elm Street Books and may be auctioned or sold. Other top picks will also be shown that evening.
