Elizabeth C. Steine, 46, of Darien was arrested on driving while intoxicated charges at 2:32 a.m. Jan. 29.

Police first received a call at approximately 1:50 a.m. saying someone had left Tequila Mockingbird intoxicated and had entered a vehicle. It was not until 40 minutes later that police received a report of an accident where a car hit a snow bank on Mill Road near Silvermine Road. Police then found the car and person that matched the earlier description.

Police said Steine was lost and could not find her way back to Darien and ended up driving into the snow bank. When police arrived on the scene, they conducted field sobriety tests and charged her with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Steine's Volvo was damaged substantially, police said.

Steine posted $300 bond and will appear in court Feb. 10.
