A 56-year-old Douglas Road resident reported credit card fraud to police May 24 at 7:55 p.m.

The complainant received notification from Bank of America and another credit card company regarding an attempt to open two accounts under his name. The suspect reportedly called Bank of America to open a credit card and attempted to transfer $6,000 to another account through a cash advance, police said.

That card was never opened because the caller gave Bank of America a wrong piece of information. The bank then contacted the complainant to let him know and froze his credit police said. The suspect also attempted to open a second account on May 21. No money was lost or taken from the complainant.
