Child Guidance Center receives $65K from Community Fund of Darien
The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, a local nonprofit mental health resource, received a $65,000 grant award from The Community Fund of Darien to support professional mental health services for local children and adolescents in Darien, Stamford, Greenwich and New Canaan.
The Community Fund of Darien is an independent, local, volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization that addresses health and human service needs.
"Celebrating 60 years of providing support to a broad spectrum of issues, our panel members carefully assessed each agency, recognizing its important role in assuring TFC donors' dollars are wisely and responsibly distributed to have the greatest impact," TCF Executive Director Kiki Karpen said. "The Child Guidance Center's programs and services exemplify the direct impact funding will have in strengthening our community and we are proud to award the Center with an increased allocation this year."
As resources diminish, support from community partners such as The Community Fund of Darien becomes increasingly essential to ensure timely, comprehensive services. Last year, CGC experienced a 62 percent increase in new referrals from Darien.
