Center for Hope offers bereavement group for grieving parents
To help parents cope with their grief of losing a child, the Center for HOPE has started a new support group.
Led by Center for HOPE clinician Carole Greenberg, the group helps parents who have recently lost a child overcome feelings of isolation and provides a safe and supportive environment. It also allows parents to talk abut the things that they cannot discuss with others -- from their anger, sadness and guilt to how to handle special occasions.
The group will meet every Monday at 5:45 p.m. for 10 weeks beginning Oct. 17. Sessions will take place at the Center for Hope located at 590 Post Road in Darien and is a program of Family Centers. An initial consultation is required before joining the group.
