A 2011 red Mazda CX 9, valued at $25,000, was reported stolen from a driveway on White Oak Shade Road Oct. 3.

A 46-year-old resident told New Canaan police at 7:16 a.m. that the Mazda was one of the three cars in his driveway, police said.

According to the report, the man inspected the other two vehicles and noticed that items were moved around. The vehicles were unlocked, and a key to the stolen car had been inside a jacket pocket left in the vehicle, police said.

In the stolen car were hockey gear and skates, police said.
