This weelk, New Canaan's registered voters will recieve a double postcard mailing from the Registrars of Voters.
To keep the right to vote, the voter should complete and sign the questionnaire card and mail it back to the Registrars of Voters.
The return postage has been prepaid.
The purpose of this annual canvass is to update the town's database of active voters to ensure that the registrations are accurate and current.
This canvass is mandated by state law and is conducted at the cost of each town or city.
At this time, it is expected that both the Republican and Democratic parties will have primaries in August for the selection of their candidates for senator and governor.
The November gubernatorial election will include candidates for the state legislature and local office in addition to candidates for United States Senator, and Congressional Representative.
If a postcard for a previous homeowner arrives, please forward it to the appropriate party.
If you are not registered in New Canaan and wish to, the Registrars' office is in Town Hall.
