The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC), a Stamford-based nonprofit agency providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families, named Jill Gordon to its Board of Directors.

Gordon marks the third resident of New Canaan to join CGC’s 19-person board. She brings more than a decade of strategic marketing and communications experience with leading brands like Travelocity and the Discovery Channel. Most recently, she served as marketing director for the Modest Needs Foundation in New York City.

She has been an active donor and community volunteer at CGC since 2014.

Gordon received her bachelor’s degree in literature from American University. She resides in New Canaan with her husband, Dan Malkoun, and two children.

Norwalk-based Frontier Communications is selling a small parking lot in downtown New Canaan for $625,000, part of an ongoing divestment of properties it deems not necessary for its operations.

The deal does not include a small Frontier building at the site located at 140 Main St. at the junction of Cherry Street.

An entity called Cherry Lot LLC is acquiring the 17-vehicle lot that the town of New Canaan has been leasing from Frontier, with a regulatory filing indicating the town will continue to be able to use the lot under that agreement. Cherry Lot is managed by Robert Cuda, operator of Robert Cuda Salon Spa located one block to the east.

Mark Finlay, of New Canaan, announced Tina Anastasia, of Westport, has been promoted and made partner at Mark P. Finlay Interiors, LLC. In her role as director of interior design, Anastasia has led the charge of dozens of projects on behalf the MPF brand.

Native to Florida, Anastasia joined Fairfield-based MPF Interiors in 2013.

Connecticut launched a new tax amnesty program called CT Fresh Start, with the goal of recouping $85 million in back taxes owed by residents and businesses.

Under the program that runs through November 2018, the state Department of Revenue Services will waive penalties and reduce interest owed by half, with details online at www.makeafreshstartct.com or by calling 877-729-6691.

Local property taxes are not included in the amnesty program.
