Board of Selectmen approve consultant for environmental analysis of Richmond Hill Demolition
Tuesday morning's Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a contract of $5,559 with TRC Solutions that would provide an in-depth environmental analysis and building survey before the potential demolition of the building at 64 Richmond Hill Road, which is now on the state's registry of historic buildings.
Tiger Mann, assistant director of public works, made the request and explained that TRC will come in and do analysis and testing on the structure in regards to the lead paint, asbestos and other environmental and safety concerns.
Upon completion of their testing, they will put together a specification report that would guide the potential demolition. The board and Mann also pointed out that any testing done by TRC would not damage the building at all should renovation take place.
Mann also reiterated that the completed guideline by TRC should also bring down bids for demolition.
