About $2,000 worth of construction items stolen
About $2,000 in construction materials were reported stolen from a home under construction on Silvermine Road, according to New Canaan police.
The complainant, a 73-year-old female affiliated with the construction company, called police Aug. 6 to report that a number of items were taken sometime between 5 p.m. the day before and 6:20 a.m., police said.
The stolen materials, which were not secured, were a $500 DeWalt table saw; six sheets of copper, valued at $800; about 100 feet of copper gutter and leaders, valued at $500; and about $200 in copper flashing, according to the report.
Police said the house is under early construction and still doesn't have doors or windows.
The investigation is continuing.
