About 500 pieces of jewelry were reported stolen from an Indian Waters Drive home Dec. 6, New Canaan police said.
The 76-year-old female resident called police at 4 p.m. saying she was missing the jewelry, valued at $10,000, and a large silver serving tray, valued at $3,000, according to police.
Among the nearly 500 pieces reported stolen, the woman said she had silver, Indian and costume jewelry, police said. One of the items singled out was a dragonfly pendant, valued at $500, police said.
The woman, who said she last saw these pieces about a month and a half ago, said the jewelry was taken from her bedroom and the 3-foot silver tray was taken from the attic, according to police.
Police said there are no signs of forced entry to the house. An investigation is ongoing.
