A 14-year-old New Canaan male was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on Old Stamford Road Sunday at 3:04 p.m.

The boy was hit by a Toyota Sedan, operated by a 38-year-old female from New Canaan who was driving south on Old Stamford Road. She told police the boy attempted to cross the street at a "very fast" pace and she did not have a chance to avoid hitting him. She slammed her brakes but the right front side of the vehicle hit the boy, causing damage to the right side of the windshield. A witness at the scene of the accident told the police the boy crossed the street from the south side of the road to the north side of the road very quickly, according to the report.

The boy had a head and nose injury but was conscious when police arrived on the scene. He was transferred to Norwalk Hospital, though the severity of his head and nose injury is unknown. Police have yet to make any charges but the matter is still under investigation.
