It is not a question of what to do, but rather how to fit it all in. In this third week of October, dozens of restaurants, businesses and other organizations have come together to present a celebration of beer, wine and spirits.

Known as CRUSH, participants can enjoy special tastings, music, happy hour discounts, menu specials, trivia nights, theater, cruises and educational evenings with a twist. Organized by Norwalk Now, a marketing group that has been working with the city of Norwalk and business to promote it as a destination, the special events began earlier this week and will continue through Oct. 20.

“People continue to come together over great food and drink, “says Norwalk Now director Linda Kavanagh, in a recent news release. “And our appreciation and thirst (pun intended) for quality cocktails, craft beer, and fine wine only fuels our desire to learn more about the brands we are drinking, experience new things, and have a greater understanding of this evolving industry.”

During the event, new-to-the market spirits and other products are set to have their debut this week; authors will have book signings; guest speakers will be talking about the world of food and libations; and special events are planned throughout - including some extra events Oct. 21, to help participants recharge their batteries.

The full schedule of events can be found on Norwalk Now’s website. Just save some time to do some planning, as opportunities abound.
