Resident trainer appears on Good Morning America

Former New Canaan and current Darien resident Tom Holland appeared on ABC's Good Morning America to promote his new book, "Beat The Gym: Personal Trainer Secrets Without the Personal Trainer Price Tag" April 12.
Published by William Morrow, an imprint of Harper Collins, "Beat the Gym" is Holland's fourth book. His first three, "The 12-Week Triathlete," "The Marathon Method "and "The 12-Week Triathlete -- Second Edition" were published by Fair Winds Press.
In "Beat the Gym," Holland provides an insider's look into how to succeed at the gym once-and-for all; drawing upon his years of experience as a top personal trainer and group fitness instructor in New York City, with a client list that included celebrities, professional athletes, CEOs and "real people." In "Beat the Gym" Holland answers all of the top fitness questions, debunks age-old fitness myths, outlines dozens of cardio and strength training workouts and more.
Hollan holds a master's degree in exercise science with a concentration in sports psychology and has been certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, The American College of Sports Medicine, The National Academy of Sports Medicine and The American Council on Exercise. Named by Women's Health Magazine as one of the Top Fitness Professionals in the Country, Holland 's workouts have appeared in dozens of magazines including SELF, Men's Journal, Fitness, Men's Health and Shape.

A competitive athlete himself, Holland has completed over 60 marathons and ultra marathons and 18 Ironman triathlons around the world with finishes in Australia, New Zealand, China, Malaysia, South Korea, Italy, France, Ireland and Germany. He was the winner of the 2007 Dutchess County Marathon and is an 8-time Boston Marathon qualifier.
He has coached dozens of Fairfield County residents to reach their fitness goals, from losing weight to doing their first triathlon, marathon and more. He is the coach of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation's Power Team, training athletes to compete in various fitness events while raising funds for the charity founded by New Canaan resident Kathy Guisti.
Holland is represented by Wilhelmina Models in their fitness division and has starred in numerous fitness DVDs including the best-selling Abs Diet Workout. He recently hosted Supreme 90 Day, a new 10 DVD home workout system by Telebrands.
