Danbury snack maker eyes $6M expansion
LesserEvil reported Monday raising nearly $1.8 million against a possible $6 million round of funding, with the company planning to expand its Danbury plant where it makes organic popcorn, chips and other snacks sold at Whole Foods and other retail outlets.
Nearly a year ago, LesserEvil moved into an expanded factory in Danbury’s Commerce Park development, after moving to the city in 2013. The company was founded in 2004 by CEO Charles Coristine.
LesserEvil reported the funding round in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission, while listing InvestEco Capital last week as its newest investor, as reported by industry news website Just-Food.com.
