Curt Casali won't need another chance to make a good impresson. The New Canaan High School graduate singled in his first major league at-bat in the Tampa Bay Rays 6-2 win over the Minnesota Twins Friday night.

Called up from AAA Durham on Thursday, Casali batted eighth and started behind the plate for the Rays. In the top of the third inning, the rookie catcher lined a single to right-centerfield off Twins starter Kyle Olsen for his first major league hit. Casali would score on a bases-clearing double by Evan Longoria.

Casali grounded out to shortstop in the fourth inning, grounded out to first base in the sixth inning, and grounded out to third in the ninth inning. Casali went 1-for-4 in his major league debut.
