NEW MILFORD -- A 51-year-old man was transported to New Milford Hospital Friday morning after being struck by a Volkswagen Jetta.

Police said the Volkswagen, driven by Adam Freaser, of Hillendale Drive, struck the man while he was riding his bicycle on Litchfield Road. The accident took place at 420 Litchfield Road and Sand Pit Road at approximately 10:47 a.m., police said.

The cyclist's name was not released. He was conscious and alert when emergency personnel arrived and transported to the hospital complaining of back pain, police said.

Freaser's 2000 Volkswagen Jetta was towed for a motor vehicle violation, police said. Charges against Freaser in the accident were not available.
