The Rotary Club of New Canaan is holding it's annual Lobsterfest today, Friday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon to 8 p.m., at the New Canaan Historical Society at 13 Oenoke Ridge.
This is a great family event with fine food and fun for kids of all ages. For those who are not fond of lobster, a delicious chicken dinner is also available.
The dinners include corn on the cob, coleslaw, water or soda and desert. Beer and wine are provided for purchase.
There is also a hot dog kid's meal available.
Tables and chairs are provided for enjoying the fine grounds of the historical society while crunching on your crustaceans.
We also provide food for take-out if desired.
This event is the largest fundraiser held by the Rotary Club, with all proceeds going to many worthy causes, such as Staying Put in New Canaan; New Canaan Food Pantry; a project with the Rotary Club of Westport to reduce the scourge of Dengue Fever in Indonesian villages; and the worldwide project that has been the focus of Rotary Clubs all over the work, the eradication of polio which has been reduced to three small pockets in third-world countries.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the event.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Fred S. Baker, president
