The Young Women's League of New Canaan will hold the 39th annual New Canaan Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24, at Waveny Park at

10 a.m.

The event is free and open to the public thanks to the collaboration and support of local organizations and businesses.

The Easter Egg Hunt is a much-loved town event that provides fun festivities for children and adults of all ages. Ten thousand eggs are stuffed by volunteers from the Women's League and "hidden" at Waveny fiel. Local children enjoy the bounce houses, face painting and sack races. The whole family will enjoy homemade treats (over 1,000 items available), music provided by The Masqueraders and photos with the Easter Bunny, provided this year by Venture Photography.

The sponsors for the 2012 Easter Egg Hunt include The Bank of New Canaan, The New Canaan Toy Store, Playland Day Camp & Nursery School, Pepe Motors, Cobble Court Interiors, Dilligence, Rangeley Capital, The Canaan Parish Sweet Shoppe, Zumbach's Gourmet Coffee and Venture Photography.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will go to the YWL Giving Fund. In the event of inclement weather the event will take place on the same day at New Canaan High School.

The YWL, founded in 1973, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to community service. YWL members volunteer their time and conduct fundraising efforts on behalf of charitable and community service organizations in New Canaan and surrounding areas.
