A 20-year-old man was injured Oct. 3 when a 21-foot-long steel girder slipped off a forklift and hit him at a construction site on Harrison Avenue, New Canaan, according to police.

Police, who responded at 3:30 p.m., said the man was stationed in the foundation of a home.

The worker was transported to the hospital with injuries to his head and leg. Police said they did not believe the injuries were critical.
