Woman reports Craigslist scam

A 58-year-old Arkansas woman claimed she was scammed while looking for an apartment in New Canaan on Craigslist July 25.

Police said the woman received a lengthy and "suspicious" email after inquiring about the house, which was listed at $700 per month. The email stated she could check out the house any time by driving past it or looking in the windows, but the person posing as the renter could not meet with her.

Police plan to subpoena Craigslist to get the email address of the scammer.
