Mahdy Carmen Franco, 55, of 6 Laurel Road, South Salem, N.Y., was arrested Feb. 19 on a charge of issuing a bad check.

According to police, Franco wrote a $795 check to Cosmetic Doctors Center, 156 Cherry St., on July 28, 2010. After the business received an "insufficient funds" message from the bank, a female employee called police Sept. 1 that same year to report the incident, police said.

Police sent Franco a letter to pay the money owed to the business, and she responded saying she was unaware she didn't have enough funds and said she would send another check, police said. She did not, according to the report, so police filed for a warrant for her arrest later that year.

At 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, she turned herself in to New Canaan police.

She posted $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 4.
