Police received a call from a female neighbor of Young's stating a 4-year-old girl wandered into her yard alone. Police attempted to contact someone at the home of the 4-year-old and found other children in the home. Police said a 13-year-old, 10-year-old and an 18-month-old were at the house. The 13-year-old boy told police he was unaware his sister was missing. Police contacted Young, who was at church. The mother told police she left her residence at 1:30 p.m., but the call made to the police was at 1:24 p.m.
Young was charged with risk of injury to a minor and was released on a promise to appear in court May 29.
